September Fifth Sunday Details

During this inaugural season for The Parish Church, the fourth (and occasional fifth) Sundays of each month look a little different. Instead of our Gathering at Meadow School, our whole church scatters out into our wonderful city to be the church outside of our normal four walls. And though we do this daily within our MCs, it’s been a wonderful rhythm to take this time 1-2 Sundays a month to really put into practice our value that Church is not an activity but an identity.

This coming Sunday, September 29, we’ll be gathering as a church at Valley Vista Elementary School to help clean out their garden and get it ready for the school year. This is an awesome opportunity to put our rhythms where our values are. Our values of gospel, family, and mission cannot be lived out merely 2 hours a week on Sunday mornings. But because they change every aspect of our lives in the everyday stuff of life, gathering together to serve our city allows us to express what it looks like to be the church in a different way than our normal gatherings.

We’ll start at 10 AM at at Valley Vista and work for a couple of hours. It’d be super helpful if everyone that was able would bring their own gardening equipment/tools — the school doesn’t have ready access to any. The plan is to head somewhere in town for lunch afterwards and we’d love to have you join us!
