STORIES: The Wotilas

The Wotilas are newer to The Parish Church but have already jumped into the community in a way that seems like we’ve known them forever. They are further evidence of God’s unending grace to our church in sending workers for the harvest.

We asked them to give us a short few paragraphs about what their time with The Parish Church has meant to them. Here are their words:

Faith and I came to the Parish just in time. In June of 2021, after a few years marked by transitions and then Shelter in Place, we found ourselves praying for a spiritual community. We longed for rootedness and were seeking to participate in a community and feel spiritually connected. It was then that we met Bryan Hornberger through Hockey, and he invited us to come to the Parish gathering on Sunday. From the moment we arrived we sensed the familiar feeling of love for Jesus and the joy of family. We remember being prayed for and welcomed warmly by Parish members. Now we look forward to Sunday gathering during the week and are encouraged by our missional community.

We are so grateful to know Daniel & Jess and the Parish family. They are constantly reminding us that discipleship is an all-of-life thing. During our time as members, we have witnessed baptisms, memorials, and dedications. We feel inspired by the message from Daniel and compelled by the truth of the word of God to fulfill the great commission. We have been in awe of God’s word. We are grateful that we have had the opportunity to serve Sonoma County in the ways that we can through outreach to introducing others to Jesus. Thank you, Parish family.
