"To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."

Colossians 1:27 [ESV]

patiently preparing

We have been given the unique opportunity to patiently pray for and seek out men and women that might share this vision to be a church that lives as the family of God, sent by the Spirit to make disciples of Jesus. The last thing we want is to create for ourselves an unnecessary and dangerous temptation to plow ahead and build a miniature kingdom out of The Parish Church. Instead of 'launching a service,' we're asking the Spirit to establish us as a family and 'launch a people!' We couldn't be more excited to see who the Lord brings to partner with us and the many people that we'll get to love and serve in our city as we aim to show and share the gospel of grace with all of our lives.

Next Steps

Core Team

Over the last few months, we've been calling and gathering people to be a part of The Parish Church. Those that have felt the call to do so make up our Core Team. They are individuals and families that have excitedly joined to see the gospel of Christ saturate our lives and our city so that every man, woman, and child has a daily encounter with Jesus. This is no small commitment but it is one we choose to make by living as a family of servant missionaries.

The next step is for our Core Team to launch The Parish Church's inaugural Missional Community in Petaluma (OCTOBER 2017). As an MC, we'll grow as a family of servant missionaries aimed at making disciples who make disciples. This could be a slow process, or a quick one. Regardless, we know that the Spirit will move in and through us in putting the gospel of grace on full display for our neighbors and city to see. As we grow to a point of multiplying, a new Missional Community will be launched (Goal of EARLY 2018).

SUNDAY mornings

Once our inaugural MC launches in October, we'll begin gathering for an intentional time to sit under the teaching of God's word, music worship, and communion. This smaller Sunday Morning Gathering, along with the Thursday night 'Family Meal,' are great opportunities to join us and learn more about The Parish Church. Give us a call or email us at for more info on locations/times.

When we have two MC's, the necessity for a larger Sunday Morning Gathering presents itself (Goal of EASTER 2018). Through this Sunday Morning Gathering we'll be able to gather as a whole church to celebrate what the Lord is doing. It's at this point that The Parish Church will be ready to be commissioned and sent off from Anthem Church and will become autonomous. We're thankful for the journey and the process of establishing family and launching a people with the hopes of planting a church.
